Description
How to Install Tempered Glass Road Studs:
Step 1: Preparation
- Bore a Hole: Begin by drilling a hole with a depth of 20mm and a diameter of 100mm. Ensure that the location corresponds accurately to planned markings on the road, such as lane separators or pedestrian crossings.
- Clean the Hole: Remove any residual asphalt or concrete debris from the hole to ensure a clean environment for the adhesive.
Step 2: Adhesive Application
- Apply Adhesive: When the hole is sufficiently dry, inject some epoxy resin or asphalt mastic. These materials are chosen for their strong adhesive properties and durability under traffic load and weather conditions.
Step 3: Setting the Stud
- Place the Stud: Insert the glass road stud into the hole.
- Secure the Stud: Spin the stud gently to ensure even distribution of the adhesive around it. Continue this until the adhesive slightly overbrims, indicating a full and secure placement.
Step 4: Finalizing
- Allow to Set: Let the adhesive set according to the manufacturer’s recommendations without disturbance. This setup time is crucial for achieving the maximum bond strength.
Applications:
- Lane Markings: Primarily used to delineate lanes on highways and major roads, especially at interchanges and separation lines.
- Safety Lines: Effective for marking dotted lines, stop lines, and pedestrian crossings to enhance visibility and compliance.
Characteristics of Glass Road Studs:
- Durability: High strength and long-lasting durability with the ability to withstand vehicular pressure, environmental factors like UV rays, and chemical exposure.
- Reflective Efficiency: Features a 100% reflective protruding part that remains highly visible in various light conditions.
- Maintenance-Free: The smooth surface prevents dust accumulation, reducing the need for regular cleaning.
- Weather Resistance: Strong resistance against harsh weather conditions, including acid rain and salt fog, which makes them suitable for various climates.
- Slip-Proof Surface: Ensures a high degree of surface hardness to prevent slipping, increasing safety for vehicles, especially in wet conditions.
- Automated Production: Manufactured through a fully automated process that ensures uniform quality and size across batches.
- Extended Lifespan: Offers a service life up to 15 times longer than traditional plastic pavement markers.
